Amy Lee
Amy Lee, de son vrai nom Amy Lynn Lee, est une chanteuse née le 13 décembre 1981 à Riverside en Californie. Amy a grandi au Little Rock en Arkansas. Elle a 2 soeurs et un frère : Carrie (née en 1990), Laurie (née en 1992) et Robbie (né en 1995). Elle avait une soeur qui est morte en 1986, à l'âge de 3 ans. C'est d'elle qu'elle parle dans les chansons Hello et Like You.

Lors d'une colonie étant adolescente, elle rencontre le guitariste Ben Moody, celui-ci sous le charme de la voix de la chanteuse lui proposa de se joindre à son groupe. Ils deviennent alors Evanescence. Plusieurs opus et démos seront endisqués, à commencer par le premier EP (Evanescence EP) limité à 100 exemplaires en 1998, suivi de Sound Asleep EP : très peu diffusé aussi (50 exemplaires). Vient l'album Origin : Le groupe commence à être connu, une radio locale diffuse même un de leurs titres : Understanding. Il faut attendre 2003, avec des apparitions comme Bring Me To Life sur la BO de Daredevil pour que le groupe acquiert une renommée mondiale. Leur album Fallen (2003) est très bien vendu (plus de 14 million d'exemplaires dans le monde), 5 titres du même album sont alors diffusés sur les plus grandes radios internationales. On parle ici de Bring me to life, Going Under, My Immortal, Everybody's Fool, et Hello. Ils ont également sorti un CD-DVD de leur live à Paris, intitulé Anywhere but home.

En 2006, Evanescence revient avec The Open Door, sorti 3 octobre 2006. Après une semaine, l'album a déjà dépassé les 500 000 exemplaires dans le monde, ce qui en fait une des 5 meilleures ventes de la rentrée.
